Clerical: Work in an office environment answering phones, helping with mailings and performing general office duties.

Committee/Board Member: Serve on a chapter committee depending on interest. Committees include: Audit, Emergency Services, Facilities, Finance, Fundraising, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Information Services.

Computer Assistant: Perform data entry functions. Excellent computer skills required.

Disaster Team: Serve on the Single Family Disaster team as an on-call caseworker for victims of house fires and other natural and man-made disasters. Must be available for a one week, 24 hour shift, every other month. Serve on the Disaster Action Team to respond to large disasters such as floods and tornados that displace large numbers of people.

Nurses can serve as Health Services professionals on local and national disasters and mental health counselors can serve on the Disaster Mental Health team for our chapter and on national disasters. Training provided.

Fundraising: Assist with special fundraising events and other fundraising efforts.

Health & Safety Instructor: Teach individuals first aid and CPR and/or Babysitting. Must be available to train others in the evening or on Saturdays. Training provided.

Intern Program: Individuals with a background in social work, communications, marketing, education and computer science can assist the Red Cross as an unpaid intern. Flexible schedule.

Speaker’s Bureau: Tell the Red Cross story to community groups or give health and safety or disaster presentations and demonstrations. Training provided.

Translator/Interpreter: Serve as a volunteer translator/interpreter for our Multicultural Information Exchange (MIX) program. All languages needed. Most document translations can be done in your home.
